Playing People | Cherish this Day Dec19

There aren't many things that she will do alone...especially not for long periods of time. (in fact..when she goes to the potty..if O isn't already following her, she will call him in there...and he will come running to entertain her while she sits on the potty) but one thing that she can play for hours is People. Which is exactly what she did this day. O came in and played when he got up from his nap too but she happily played by herself until then.

First Christmas in Savannah | 10 on 10 December 2014

So far this Christmas season has been a blast! I am in my last month of pregnancy but I certainly didn't want to miss any of the fun that this season brings...so I planned a few things. One of the first things (outside of singing Christmas music nonstop, doing a few Christmas crafts and our daily advent) on my list was to take G to see "the ballerinas" (The Nutcracker) in Savannah! I wish I could have the whole thing on video..but I stink at that...so I have these pictures to help us remember our first Mommy Daughter date! She was SO excited before, during and after the show! There was one part of the ballet that scared her for some reason...but that was a good spot for a potty break anyway.
She could not stop smiling while we waited for it to start..and she would keep saying things like "This is going to be SO MUCH FUN!!" oh my goodness...such fun memories... :) :) :) I'm pretty sure we will have to make this a Christmas tradition. Plus, I think me and G will have to make it a point to go on more dates...because special time spent with her was just too much fun.

The "blue ballerinas" were her favorite.

We left a little early so that we could meet Daddy and O in time for the Christmas parade that night. As I stopped to take a picture of the theater, I noticed G was twirling away beside me...she literally twirled all the way to the car. I loved every second of it.

We were able to find the perfect spot to watch the parade..not too far from our car and also not far from food! :) Little O kept Daddy's chair warm for him while he went to get some supper. I love how his feet just barely reach the end of the seat.

She really loved the parade. ;)

Painting | 10 on 10 October 2014

G isn't super artsy...she doesn't love to color or draw and only likes to play with playdough for a limited time...but she LOVES to paint. This time O got to get the full effect of paint and he seems to love it as much as she does!
My original intention was to put some paint on paper plates for them to dip in and paint pictures on paper. HAH! I did realize that this probably wouldn't happen for very long...which is why we are outside. They may have painted two strokes with brushes on their paper and then anything was fair game after that! ;) With all of the precious feet prints all over the sidewalk, I hoped that it wouldn't wash away too quickly. O painted his plates and was content to carry those around. G apparently got bored with painting non moving objects..so she moved on to her brother. He is so used to her messing with him that he hardly paid attention to it. What cracked me and Josh up the most was that G would paint some on O and then say "say thank you!" and he would come right back with "thank you!" every time! Such a fun afternoon with our family. <3

Our Girl is THREE!! | Cherish this Day Sept19

On September 15th our little girl turned 3 years old. Crazy. So awesome...but crazy! :) Two years old still seems like a toddler to me...but three is definitely the beginnings of a little girl. <3 This girl has got to be one of the sweetest three year olds around...yes..she can be loud, silly, whiny and sometimes bossy...but no matter what "stage" she is in, I can always see her incredibly sweet heart. She loves...and she loves big! Something that always gets me is when she sees someone hurting, emotionally or physically, she will try to comfort them in her special little way. First, she will give you a hug and kiss and tell you how much she loves you..then she typically gets a blanket to cover you with and will even give you her blankie and Manny (big stuff!)...and if you're lucky...she cuddles with you after all of that!

Last weekend we celebrated her with Grandmoo, Bepaw and Uncle Jake.
So..just in case you didn't know...Daniel Tiger is a pretty big deal in our house...and on Saturday G and O got to take their very first trolley ride around Savannah! G was so excited!! She asked to wear her princess dress that she had gotten as a gift the night before and also wanted to bring Manny too. :) It was so much fun to see her excitement..she skipped all the way down the sidewalk to the trolley as soon as it pulled up! We were able to hop on and off all day so we hit Leopold's for ice cream as one of our stops on the tour. By the time the ride around Savannah was over, it was way past naptime for both kids. I was so so pleased with the way they acted though..I don't remember any meltdowns at all! whew!

Daddy and O | September 10 on 10

O has been introduced to so many things by his big sister...you know...the important things like babies, tea parties and princesses. I have tried to introduce him to boy stuff like cars, trucks, balls and....well..dirt. While he really really loves balls and certainly loves getting dirty...I haven't been successful in getting him to enjoy cars or trucks. I wouldn't care..but I've never met a little boy that didn't love cars and trucks, so I was sure that I was doing something wrong. He still preferred whatever Grace was doing..which usually involves jewelry and twirling. ;)
This night Daddy got out the cars...

and he has played with them everyday since. All he needed was for Daddy to show him how it's done...Mommy obviously had no clue. ;) Now, I do want you to know that I honestly don't care if he plays with babies and sweeps with his sister's pink broom and even has a tea party!! I just thought he ought to try and enjoy some things that most boys love too! :)
